New Cyberpunk 2077 expansions are on the way

CD Projekt Red has confirmed more Cyberpunk 2077 content is on the way, though not in the way we’d like.

We’re not talking about the game’s sequel, which is currently in the early stages of development and not expected to become CD Projekt Red’s priority until after the release of The Witcher 4.

Luckily, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is a big game, with plenty of replay value, check it out below.

Since the release of the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion, the developer has confirmed it is officially done with the game.

There will, of course, be the occasional patch update, but as far as new content and other DLC expansions, the game is officially finished.

However, that’s not the end of the game’s world, far from it, as there are a number of supplementary expansions for fans to get a hold of, like Cyberpunk RED.

Cyberpunk RED is a tabletop RPG where players use miniatures and lore booklets to create their own adventures, and it’s grown quite popular since the video game’s release.

As reported by DiceBreaker, the popularity of the board game hasn’t gone unnoticed, as there’s reportedly “plenty of lore and gear from the video game and comics to share with the world” which means, yes, more expansions on the way.

Fans have also been craving an expansion based on the ever-popular Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, though the publisher has stated there’s “nothing for Edgerunners in specific” currently in the works.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was celebrated by fans for being a fantastic anime adaptation, leading to severe disappointment when it was announced there are no plans for a second season.

So, Cyberpunk fans looking to get their fix before the next game releases will just have to enjoy the tabletop RPG and the comics for the time being.

It’s unknown when the next game is expected to roll around, but given the disastrous, rushed launch of Cyberpunk 2077, it’s safe to assume CD Projekt Red will take all the time in the world to ensure it doesn’t repeat the same mistake.
