The most highly anticipated game on Steam right now isn't a AAA big hitter such as Ghost of Tsushima, the Silent Hill 2 remake or Elden Ring expansion Shadow of the Erdtee, but is instead an indie darling that’s bringing all the hype.
In most cases, being the most wishlisted game on Steam should guarantee a certain level of success but that’s not always the case. A prime example of that would be the colossal flop The Day Before but we suspect that indie game Manor Lords will not repeat the same mistakes of what is considered to be one of the worst video games of all time.

Manor Lords is a city builder that kind of looks like what would happen if The Elder Scrolls and Total War got together and had a baby, and we’re all for it, and it seems many others are too. According to the Steam charts, Manor Lords is sitting firmly at the top of the most-wishlisted games currently beating the likes of Hades II, Black Myth: Wukong and Hollow Knight: Silksong to name a few.

“Manor Lords is a strategy game that allows you to experience the life of a mediaeval lord. Grow your starting village into a bustling city, manage resources and production chains, and expand your lands through conquest,” reads the synopsis of the game.
“Inspired by the art and architecture of late 14th century Franconia, Manor Lords prioritises historical accuracy wherever possible, using it to inform gameplay mechanics and visuals alike. Common mediaeval tropes are avoided in favour of historical accuracy, in order to make the world feel more authentic, colourful, and believable.”
Manor Lords will arrive on PC and modern Xbox consoles on 26 April. Better still, if you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, you can play Manor Lords day one at no extra cost.
