‘Apex Legends’ Winter Express and Raiders Collection Event: Everything You Need To Know About These Special Events

Snow is falling in Apex Legends, and you know what that means, Legends… the Winter Express is back!

The fan-favourite mode returns to get you well and truly in the holiday spirit, pitting three teams of three against each other in a bid to capture a festive version of the World's Edge train. Together, you must fight to defend, or take, the train as it races full throttle across the map. Whichever team is left standing at the end – either by capturing the train or by eliminating all their opponents – wins.

As there are no second chances here – players die immediately rather than go down and have a chance at revival, and there are no respawns in this special mode – stealth and tactical play are more important than ever, and sometimes it might be worth playing a little more aggressively than usual if you reckon you can permanently shut down an enemy. So be careful out there, Legend, especially as, for the first time, players can choo-choo-choose their preferred loadouts before they jump from their supply ships this year…

Don't forget, you can also change your Legend and your loadout in between rounds, too, so if the character you've been using isn't working out for you – either because of their defensive skills or the specific abilities of your opponents – you can switch Legends and loadouts until you find the right one for the job.

Raiders Collection Event

That's not all, either! From now until December 21, players can jump into the Raiders Collection Event, a brand-new limited-time mode that lets you unlock pirate-themed Legendary cosmetic loot for selected Legends: Bloodhound, Loba, Pathfinder, Revenant, Valkyrie, Wattson, and last but never least, Wraith.

There's a complementary weapon for every Legendary skin, and if you manage to snag all 24, you'll get Wattson's first electric Heirloom, the Energy Reach, for your troubles.

With 1,600 XP points up for grabs every day – and a daily refresh of those all-important challenges, of course – as well as stretch challenges that offer four unique badges, too, there's plenty to keep you busy as you shoot 'n' slide your way into the holiday season, especially as event XP also counts towards your Battle Pass progress, too.
