Some 'must play' games for PlayStation Plus

We all know that PlayStation Plus has a lot of amazing games as part of its catalogue, but with hundreds of games to choose from there are some bangers that often get overlooked. The selection can be overwhelming, especially if you’re new to PlayStation.

It’s hard to compete for screen time when you’ve got the likes of Horizon Forbidden West, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and Returnal on there. All amazing Exclusive games but let’s give some love to the sleeper hits on PlayStation Plus that are ‘must-play’ games.

PlayStation Plus features some great games that can now be streamed via the cloud

Blasphemous

Blasphemous is such a satisfying MetroidVania; a lovely mix of gorgeous pixel art, great exploration, and brutal boss fights. Perhaps one of the finest examples of the SoulsBorne genre being taken into a 2D realm, this game is drenched in religious iconography, blood, and lore. One minute you’re traversing vertical platforms, the next you’re upgrading your skills to better take on an enormous boss. Finally finding a new route, opening a larger area, or vanquishing a tough-as-nails creature just scratches that odd itch that only MetroidVanias can create.

Everybody’s Golf

Regular golf games can feel a little intimidating to start, with all the different clubs, shots, and courses. Everybody’s Golf does a brilliant job of turning the sport into an arcade game, easily accessible for everybody, as the name says. Everything is straight-forward, a couple of different buttons to shoot the ball or putt it, plus the cartoon anime-style visuals is much more inviting than fully rendered golfers. Everybody’s Golf is much more playful and can be played with friends and family.

Maneater

Why not play your game as a rampaging shark on the hunt to chomp everything in sight? You play Maneater as a female bullshark who is taking revenge against humans for disfiguring her as a pup and killing her mother. Think Bambi, but rated for adults. It’s such a silly idea, but it’s a riot to play. With lots of different missions and a whole open-world area to swim through, you can’t get bored, there’s so much to do and each mission allows for some hilarious or entertaining moments. With the backdrop of a reality show, Maneater really leans into the preposterous.
