Uncharted is less than a week away from making its big debut on cinema screens - and ahead of its release, we sat down for a conversation with Tati Gabrielle, who plays one of the main antagonists, Braddock. Uncharted is the video gaming world's latest attempt at taking hugely successful interactive action and translating it to Hollywood, and it was a huge undertaking for the whole crew. Tati gave us a small insight into what happened behind-the-scenes of this production.
Watch our full interview with Tati Gabrielle and Sophia Ali below:
We asked whether Tati had played any of the Uncharted games before signing on to join the film. “Yes I did,” she told us. “I was given a PlayStation and all four [mainline] games when I got onto the project, and I love the games.” She went on to describe how much she loved the look of the games along with the cinematic story that they were telling.
Naturally, we then asked which one of the games might be her favourite. “The fourth one (A Thief’s End) definitely stood out to me the most and, to me, I feel like that is also the one most closely aligned with our film in a lot of ways.”
We also asked Sophia Ali the same question, as she’s taking on the role of Chloe Frazer in the film adaptation of the famous PlayStation series. “I’ve played all of them, including Chloe’s game (Uncharted: The Lost Legacy) and yep I loved them,” she told us. So it looks like the cast of this film do have a good insight into the games, and that can only be a positive thing given Uncharted’s fans will be hoping for an adaptation that they will love.
Sophia also went on to reveal that she would love it if the film franchise gave her her own spin-off, much like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. “There are so many people that would do Nadine (Ross, Chloe’s partner in the game) so well,” she said. “Too bad it can’t be Tati again, she’s already a character.”
Uncharted is out on 11th February in the UK and 18th February over in the US. In the meantime, you can play all of the Uncharted games on PlayStation as a tease of what you can expect from this all-star cast in the upcoming film.
