Call Of Duty fans agree Nuketown is the series' greatest map of all-time

Call Of Duty fans agree Nuketown is the series' greatest map of all-time

You wouldn't wanna live there

It usually starts with a simple question. In this case, that question is “What’s the best Call of Duty map of all time?”

That’s what one Redditor asked the message board. They didn’t nominate a map themselves, they simply let the community discuss and debate. Over the many years of Call of Duty, there have been more maps than you could probably remember and some of them are iconic for a number of reasons.

Modern Warfare 3 is seeing a lot of success with its multiplayer modes

The highest-rated reply nominates Nuketown as the best map. There’s a lot of validity in this choice; as the user explains, “I feel like Nuketown takes the cake. It's been remade like 5 or 6 times now, it's been integrated into zombies twice, and it's got its own POI on Blackout. It's clearly a fan favorite and it wouldn't be remade so many times if people didn't love it.”

It’s true, Nuketown has appeared in a number of Call of Duty titles, it’s even been remade in Fortnite’s creative mode because the map has a legacy. While some Redditors argue the point, it’s clear that Nuketown is an important part of the franchise's history. As one user mentions, “It’s the perfect 3x3 small map.”

It seems that Nuketown has a close competitor in Rust, however there were a lot of close calls nominated by users. Raid, Terminal, and Shipment all got a mention, while Overgrown and Favela were mentioned too. It always seems that the ‘best’ maps tend to be on the smaller side, they’re more chaotic, plus they’re much better for grinding experience and levelling up your account and weapons.

This is especially the case for modern Call of Duty titles where players will swarm into maps like Shipment where kills total up quickly and players can unlock new weapon attachments in order to build meta guns. Regardless of the reasoning, Nuketown wins it.
