Hogwarts Legacy is out now offering players the opportunity to forge their own story. However, many are wondering if they can perform the Killing Curse.
Set during the late 1800s, Hogwarts Legacy lets players create their avatars, interact with NPCs to form bonds, as well as joining one of the four Hogwarts Houses. Depending on how you choose to play the game, you can be a shining light or explore your inner dark side.
So with player expression being a key feature in Hogwarts Legacy, can you use a Killing Curse in-game, collectively known as one of the three Unforgivable Curses? The short answer to that question is yes.

What are the Unforgivable Curses in Hogwarts Legacy?
Avada Kedavra aka the Killing Curse: Simply put, this is the most dangerous of all spells in the Wizarding World. Unleashing a blinding green bolt of lightning, if struck with this spell it will result in instant death. That is of course unless your name is Harry Potter, who is the only known survivor of Avada Kedavra.
Crucio aka the Cructiatus Curse: While the Crucio spell won’t outright kill the victim, it is said to unleash a truly excruciating level of pain. For this spell to be performed successfully, the caster must truly despise the victim. At this point, the victim might even wish for Avada Kedavra.
Imperio aka the Imperius Curse: The Imperio is truly a despicable curse, to say the least. When imposed on the victim, they will be under the complete control of the caster. The victim will not question the demands of the caster and in a zombie-like state, they will be at their complete mercy.

Hogwarts Legacy releases this week for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on the 10th of February or on today for those that pre-ordered the Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition or Deluxe Edition.
As for last-gen and Nintendo Switch owners, you’ll have to be a little more patient. Hogwarts Legacy will release on 4th April for PS4 and Xbox One, and then for Nintendo Switch on 25th, July.
