As the name of the game suggests, Blood on the Sand stars rapper 50 Cent. Released in 2009 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, it’s fair to say that this third-person shooter wasn't a commercial success, only selling a reported 56,000 copies in the United States.

In its defence, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand does have a decent Metacritic score of 71 and 72 for PS3 and 360, respectively. What’s more, it has reached a cult-like status amongst gaming enthusiasts - largely due to its easy-to-pick-up gameplay and cheesy charm.

However, its predecessor, 50 Cent: Bulletproof, which was released in 2005, did not reach the same lovable heights as its sequel. To be honest, it’s probably why you don't hear much of the gaming community requesting a remaster of the older brother.

Now playable on the Xbox Series X/S thanks to backwards compatibility, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand plays better than ever on console and fans have been sharing the love on Reddit. “50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is mindless fun at its absolute finest,” posted Redditor xCryodream.

“Man, this reminds me of playing Enter the Matrix with the infinite slo-mo cheat code,” said the gleeful NiteSwept. “There was a mission where you were in a bank and if you never left, police/security officers would spawn infinitely. I think I played that for like an hour the first time I played it. So much fun.”

“I didn’t know it was backwards compatible! That’s brilliant. It’s a proper cheesy fun title,” said Silent_Palpatine. “The crazy thing is that 50 Cent actually did all this crazy shit in real life. It’s based on a true story my buddy Eric said,” added the suspicious FilmNoirLoveStory.

With this game being backwards compatible on Xbox One and Series X/S, one could argue that it doesn't need a remake or remaster. However, the game is no longer available to buy on the Xbox Marketplace and if you wanted to buy a second-hand copy, it won't come cheap.
