Watch The Mountain From 'Game Of Thrones' Try To Throw Things Further Than A Trebuchet

Age of Empires IV is celebrating its release in an unusual manner.

You know, I’m a woman of simple pleasures. I see The Mountain from Game of Thrones throwing things, I’m entertained, what can I say? And if you’re like me and you have a bit of a thing for trebuchets too, why not watch both The Mountain and a war machine in action in the most ridiculous launch video I’ve seen in a while.

As reported by Gamespot, Xbox has released a video celebrating the launch of Age of Empires IV by hanging out with the one and only Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson in a windy field somewhere in England. The strongman and actor is best known for his work as The Mountain in Game of Thrones but as it’s revealed in the video, he used to be pretty good at basketball. But (I’ll try to write this without laughing) he’s “now a big guy”. Love that for you Hafþór.

Here is the trailer for Age of Empires IV

Of course, the Icelandic weight lifter is big, but a trebuchet is bigger. It’s no surprise that when it comes down to the two of them trying to throw a bit of plastic filled with air, the machine that used to throw metal balls, stones, corpses, and fire at massive stone buildings was more powerful. It’s a good effort Hafþór but I think this thing has you beat.

If you’re interested in seeing the chaos unfold, as well as a little bit about the history of the trebuchet and how it’s incorporated into Age of Empires IV you can watch the full video below.

Age of Empires IV launches on October 28 (today) and will be available on PC. If you’ve got Xbox Game Pass, it’s available on that service from day one, so enjoy the mayhem.
