In case you’d forgotten, soon to be joining the array of Sony’s game-to-screen adaptations is Ghost of Tsushima. It was confirmed last year that Sucker Punch’s 2020 action-adventure would be getting a movie, and although details have been pretty light on the ground, rest assured that it is a thing that’s happening.

Now though, as reported by Entertainment Weekly, Warrior and Bullet Train star Andrew Koji has revealed that he’d love to take on the role of protagonist Jin Sakai.

“I’m going after Ghost of Tsushima - that's what I'm going to do,” he said, when asked about his post-Bullet Train plans. “I would love that. I think I can do a really good Jin Sakai. I can bring my own spin to it.
“I’ve played [the video game] twice now,” he continued. “I was thinking about it because [the adaptation has] been on the horizon, all the team talking about it. It would have to stand by itself, because the game's so good. Let that exist by itself, and the film should be something slightly different. That's the problem with those video game films.”
Ironically, at the time of writing, Netflix’s new most-watched film is Uncharted - the film adaptation of the iconic series, starring Tom Holland as Nathan Drake. Overall, the film sadly didn’t manage to break away from the ‘bad video game movie’ stereotype, as it was ripped to shreds by critics upon release.
The Ghost of Tsushima movie doesn’t currently have a release window, but is set to be directed by Chad Stahelski (John Wick), and written by Takashi Doscher (Only).
