Pro 'Apex: Legends' Player Refuses To Shoot Enemy During $2 Million Tournament

You can’t really imagine a much more stressful situation than competing in a gaming tournament when there’s a two million dollar prize up for grabs. I imagine even the most relaxing game would quickly become very intense if there was such a massive amount of money on the line.
Given that, you’d imagine that most people in that situation during an Apex Legends tournament would relish in the opportunity to get a free kill, but not Phillip “ImperialHal” Dosen. As reported by Eurogamer, the pro Apex player has been praised by the community for refusing to shoot an opponent who he realised had disconnected.

This took place in the Apex Legends Global Series Championship, which concluded on Sunday. When ImperialHal realised the situation, he immediately called out for his team to spare the crashed player: “This guy crashed! Don’t shoot him, don’t shoot him bro, he crashed,” he said. “He 100% tabbed out or crashed or something. I don’t know where his teammates are. Don’t shoot him, it’s SCARZ, don’t shoot.”
The awesome part is that following this, both ImperialHal’s esports team, TSM, and the opposing team, SCARZ, made it to the finals, finishing in seventh and 11th place respectively, so the act of kindness took them both a long way. Responding to the situation on Twitter, ImperialHal simply said: “It’s the least every player can do out here with these issues.”

In other Apex news, it’s been uncovered by way of several job listings that a whole new single-player game set in the Apex universe is in development. And yes, that’s right, this comes about a week after EA made that tweet dragging single-player titles, which is painfully ironic. Chances are, it’s probably quite a way off yet, but it’ll be interesting to see what comes of it. Guessing it won’t be a 10/10 though, eh?
