Thirsty Apex Legends players are furious that the new swimsuit skins aren’t skimpy enough. Why? Because it’s the internet.

As reported by Kotaku, Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment has just announced the ‘Sun Squad Collection Event’ with the summer season being just a few months away. Perhaps taking some inspiration from Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball, players can earn (or buy) some sweet summer skins for their favourite Apex Legends characters. However, some players are disappointed by the event, given the apparent lack of skimpiness.

One particular fan was disappointed with the lack of skimpiness for the fan favourite character Loba. “What we wanted vs what we got,” tweeted BirnoOCE. Side-by-side comparison images featured Loba in a spicy bikini set sipping a cocktail, next to an actual in-game skin of her in something colourful and tropical.

Getting into the spirit of the upcoming summer season, developers Respawn tweeted, “Ok, here's the deal: If this post gets 10K likes, we'll add the swimsuit skin.” Unsurprisingly, that target was smashed in a mere 10 minutes.

At the time of writing this article, Respawn hasn't tweeted the image of the new swimsuit skin but hopefully, Apex Legends players will be satisfied on its arrival. If all else fails, at least there’s still Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball.

In other related news, Electronic Arts are shutting down the Apex Legends mobile game, as well as the Battlefield mobile adaptation before it has even released. This just so happened during a time in which live-service games are seemingly dropping like flies. However, despite some live-service games struggling, Apex Legends still garners healthy player numbers, at least on Steam. At the time of writing, according to SteamDB, the free-to-play shooter has generated a 24-hour concurrent player peak of 520,759 with 391,709 players battling it out right now.
