Ash's Gengar Literally Eats Another Pokémon In New Episode Of The Anime

Oh look, man-made horrors beyond our comprehension. Coolcoolcoolcool.

Gengar has always been a personal favourite Pokémon of mine. They’re badass looking, know all sorts of super powerful moves and I just think it’d be dope to have a ghost friend that could haunt your enemies if beef ever started.

Anywho, in the latest episode of Pokémon Journeys! Ash Ketchum has traveled far and wide across the world’s regions and assembled a very unique team. A sort of, A-Team, if you will. This team includes a Gengar that has arguably taken things a step too far by literally eating another Pokémon during a battle. That’s gonna be a yikes moment for sure.

If you’re a lover of Pokémon, you’ll be thrilled to hear that two new games, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, have just been announced! Check out the trailer for them below.

The episode sees Ash facing off against fan-favourite trainer Marnie in an Ultra Class showdown. Marine’s Grimmsnarl had been giving Ash a bit of a headache and had survived Gengar going all Gigantamax. So Ash did the only reasonable thing he could, and had Gengar eat Grimmsnarl. Check it out for yourself below.

Now, you’d be forgiven for thinking that one of the Pokémon being eaten alive would usher the end of a battle, but no. It continued. Who’s refereeing these things and who’s paying them off to be so blatantly blind to the in-arena shenanigans? I’d like to know. Ash did eventually defeat Marnie to achieve his highest ranking in the tournament so far, as he entered the top 15. According to Comicbook.com, that leaves him only one fight away from the top 8 Master Class. Exciting times.

With the announcement of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, it’s an exciting time to be a Pokémon fan. The franchise is currently on a massive high from the successful release of Pokémon Legends: Arceus with many speculating if it might be the dawn of a brand new age for all things Pokémon. I’m now wondering how many more times I can write the word Pokémon in this paragraph before people get sick of reading it. Pokémon.
