Assassin's Creed publisher drops major free download, but you don't have long

Who would like to play a free video game this weekend with no obligation to buy? If that sounds like something that tickles your fancy, then we’ve got you covered.

Publisher Ubisoft is known for the likes of the Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, to name a few. However, Ubisoft is also no stranger to sports games such as the underrated Riders Republic and The Crew series, the latter of which is today’s topic of discussion.

The Crew series was first released in 2014 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Unlike more traditional racing games such as Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport, The Crew had taken inspiration from Microsoft’s Forza Horizon franchise allowing players to freely drive in an open-world map of the United States. It wasn't a perfect game but it would lay the foundations for what’s to come.

The most recent entry in the series is The Crew Motorfest which scored a decent 76 on the aggregate website Metacritic, establishing itself as a worthy alternative to Forza Horizon 5. If you’re yet to play The Crew Motorfest, now is the perfect time because you can play it for free this weekend.

From now until Monday 18 March, the open world of The Crew Motorfest is free for you to explore including its luxurious games, modes and much more just in time for its third season of content.
