'Battlefield 2042' Leak Confirms Number Of Weapons Available At Launch

Not too shabby

Battlefield 2042 doesn’t release until November 19, but one gamer has somehow already gotten their mitts on the shooter and has been sharing details with fans online.

It’s not entirely clear how exactly Redditor Aaronfrogger got early access to Battlefield 2042, but it has something to do with a glitch that occurred when pre-loading the game on Xbox. Whatever went down, they were left with full access to the entire game. That’s a damn good glitch, if you ask me.

Take a look at Battlefield 2042 in action below!

Anyway, Aaaronfrogger has opted to use their power for the people. They’ve made a string of posts over on the Battlefield 2042 subreddit, sharing new details about the game’s menus, gameplay, customisation options, and more.

One thing fans were quick to call out was the number of weapons seemingly available in the game at launch. One of Aaronfrogger’s screenshots appears to confirm the full game will have four SMGs, four assault rifles, two LMGs, three DMRs, three shotguns, three secondaries, and three sniper rifles. That’s 22 weapons at launch, in total.

While 22 perfectly balanced and finely tuned weapons sounds like more than enough to me (especially when you consider each gun can be further customised), some players believe there should be more. With that said, you can trawl the internet and find any number of people willing to complain about any number of things that don’t actually matter.

Even if Battlefield 2042 launches with 22 weapons - which is definitely a fine amount - EA and DICE will absolutely add more over the next few months via free updates. Seems like a non-issue, really.
