Bizzare 'GTA Trilogy' Glitch Is Causing Cars To Grow Huge

Glitches are, for the most part, a really annoying reality of games. Though the tech behind games gets better and better with every moment, glitches and bugs don’t ever really go away. In fact with newer releases, some might say that they’re even more prominent as developers now have patches to fall back on. And with the launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, comes one of the funniest bugs we’ve seen in a while.

Across Twitter and Reddit, a gif of a car wiggling back and forth has been popping up. The car is driving, as cars do, and is doing a little shimmy to the left and then right back and forth but if you look closely, you’ll also notice it’s getting bigger. There is something in the code of GTA 3 that is inflating the cars when they move like this and it’s hilarious.

Here is the trailer for The Definitive Edition...

The Reddit user, TheVideoGaymer, who posted the gif says that this effect is limitless too. “As long as the game can handle it,” it’ll keep stretching. It’s pretty hilarious and looks so funny when it happens. I sort of hope Rockstar doesn’t fix this bug actually.

Somnif in the comments points out, though, that this glitch was sort of in the original game too. A YouTuber called Badinfos explains that there was a bug in the original game that allows you to make a ‘ghost car’. Bugging a car specifically in this way allowed it to move through walls and some other features, but the longer you drove it, the more it would stretch out like in The Definitive Edition

I’m not exactly sure what causes the bug, I just enjoy the fact that it exists and it makes the game look even funkier. Though there are issues that many fans of the series aren't happy with as a whole.
