Bloodborne fans livid as Sony tweets then deletes teaser

Sony accidentally baited fans into thinking new Bloodborne content was coming with a recent tweet.

Bloodborne fans aren’t shy about their desire for new content. A sequel, a remaster … it really doesn’t matter. It’s no surprise as Bloodborne is one of the greatest games ever released, or so I hear from GAMINGbible’s resident Bloodborne fan Ewan. I can’t really say it’s my cup of tea but even without daring to venture into FromSoftware’s acclaimed title, I can appreciate what is evidently a masterpiece.

To make up for the fact that Sony has been very quiet on the Bloodborne front, fans have been taking matters into their own hands. One created an incredible PlayStation 5 remaster whilst another has dreamt up what a sequel could look like in Unreal Engine 5. This week, Sony finally appeared to tease a Bloodborne update but alas, it looks like another false alarm.

Speaking of FromSoftware, check out some of our favourite Elden Ring wins and fails below.

In recent days, Bloodborne began trending on Twitter. It’s not unusual. Like I say, fans are pretty vocal about what they want for the franchise but this time, the trending topic was kickstarted by a cryptic tweet from Sony. As reported by Dexerto, a now-deleted tweet from Sony read, “Can you see it? Which PlayStation game cover are we zooming in on?” The close-up was, of course, from Bloodborne.

Fans took this to mean that Sony was prepping for an announcement but it looks like that’s not the case. Sony swiftly deleted the tweet, probably after realising that they’d generated a ton of hype over nothing. Needless to say, fans aren’t happy.

Prominent leaker Nibellion took to Twitter to say, “Don’t do this unless you got something to announce.” Other reactions flooded in. BioticNova wrote, “Shoutout to Sony for getting all the Bloodborne fans’ hopes up then deleting the tweet,” while autremorn added, “Bamboozling in the name of Bloodborne should be criminal.” I think Sony has now learnt that lesson the hard way.
