Call Of Duty: Vanguard is out in just a few days, and fans are already looking to the future. A number of reliable leakers have suggested in recent months that 2022’s Call Of Duty is coming from Infinity Ward, and will be called Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
While Activision has yet to confirm this, sources are insistent that Infinity Ward is developing a sequel to 2019’s well-received Modern Warfare reboot. Unfortunately, it looks like it will be sharing a name with 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, just with Roman numerals instead. As if that makes it not confusing.
Take a look at how Call Of Duty helped one young gamer open up about his experience with bullying below:
Anyway, over on Twitter a leaker by the name of @RalphsValve has just shared a ton of info on the game’s Narcos-inspired campaign and multiplayer modes. We’ve covered a lot of the big stuff in regards to the single-player mode here, so be sure to check it out.
One part of the infodump that really got our attention is the news that Modern Warfare 2 will be bringing back a handful of classic maps. Specifically, it sounds like Favela, Highrise, Terminal, Shipment, and Quarry are all making a return. Huge news for fans of the original game.

Highrise in particular is a huge favourite of Call Of Duty fans, and is one that players were desperate to see return in 2019’s Modern Warfare. That never happened, obviously, but it seems Infinity Ward is keen to bring back more old maps for the sequel. If Modern Warfare 2 is anything like its predecessor, we can probably expect remastered maps to drop every couple of months as part of the game’s free content updates.
