With Call Of Duty: Warzone 2.0 set to launch around the world on 16 November, it looks as if the original Warzone experience we've all come to know and love over the last few years is being taken to the great Gulag in the sky.
Starting 16 November at 4pm GMT the popular battle royale will be taken offline so that developer Raven Software can put all its focus on ensuring the sequel has a strong and stable launch.

The good news is that if you really hate Warzone 2.0 with a fiery passion, the original Warzone is expected to return on November 28. Quite how much longer Activision plans to support two Warzone games is anyone's guess, although I would imagine that the original will be fully phased out eventually.

Raven Software confirmed the news in the latest Call of Duty blog, adding that any cosmetics earned in Warzone will not be carried over to Warzone 2.0. My apologies if you were hoping this would be the case. But the future is all about Warzone 2.0, baby.
The new game will officially go live at 6pm GMT on 16 November as part of Modern Warfare 2's Season One. If you've been keeping an eye on your calendar, 16 November is a Wednesday. That means you've got to get through a few days of work before you can spend the weekend grinding out all the new content.
Massive online games - especially free-to-play ones - typically have rocky launches no matter what. Raven Software “will be focused on ensuring the new Warzone 2.0 free-to-play ecosystem is running effectively," but I'd be amazed if we didn't run into some problems over those first few days. Let's wait and see.
