These Classic Bethesda Games Are Free To Download On Game Pass Today

Some older Elder Scrolls titles are free to play via PC Game Pass right now, alongside a number of classic id Software games.

Did someone say free games? We did. We said free games. Well, sort of, anyway - a bunch of new (but old) games have just arrived on PC Game Pass, expanding the huge existing library even further. There’s some real highlights here, so let’s get into them.

But before we do, take a look at this super satisfying Xbox 360 restoration below.

The additional games, available to play right now via Game Pass, are all id Software and Bethesda classics. From id Software, we have the FPS titles Wolfenstein 3D, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and Quake 4

Then, from Bethesda, we have An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire, and The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard. Both these titles released after the second main Elder Scrolls instalment, Daggerfall, and are pretty short in comparison to most of the games in the series. For reference, according to HowLongToBeat, Battlespire’s main story takes around 15.5 hours to complete, and Redfall’s takes roughly 17, while in comparison, Skyrim’s takes about 34 (focusing on main objectives alone, of course).

It doesn’t stop there, though - the first Elder Scrolls game, The Elder Scrolls: Arena, and the aforementioned Daggerfall, are both free to download and play via the Microsoft Store, as well as the first-person arena shooter, Quake Champions. Kotaku writes that these don’t seem to appear on the PC Xbox App Store, which is slightly odd - just keep it in mind when you’re searching for them. Also, as a Game Pass perk, you can unlock all the Champions in Quake Champions, which is a nice little bonus if you just want to get straight into the action.
