Classic Tracks Are Coming To ‘Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’ Next Week

Nintendo are finally releasing wave two of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is itself a classic. The Nintendo Switch version of the game launched back in 2017, and still dominates sales charts today. As of March this year, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe had sold a whopping 45 million copies, making it the best selling Switch game of all time.

You may recall that Nintendo previously announced the ‘Booster Course Pass,’ a DLC made up of 48 classic tracks. These tracks are set to release in six waves. The first wave landed on 18 March, and we know now that wave two will land next week on 4 August. Let’s-a go!

Check out the brand new trailer for wave two of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass below.

Just like wave one, this latest wave will include eight new tracks. Well, I say new … they’re classic tracks but they’re new to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe so we’re rolling with it. First up, we’ve got the Turnip Cup which consists of Kalimari Desert (N64), Mario Circuit 3 (SNES), Waluigi Pinball (DS), and New York Minute (Tour).

You’ll now also be able to enter the Propeller Cup which will feature Sydney Sprint (Tour), Mushroom Gorge (Wii), Snow Land (GBA), and perhaps most excitingly, a brand new course called Sky-High Sundae. This new addition will also be added to Mario Kart Tour at a later date.

This means that those who have purchased the Booster Course Pass, still have four more wave drops to look forward to. These should end in 2023. Given the five month gap between waves one and two, we can assume that wave three will possibly be released this autumn / winter. Switch users who are subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack will automatically be able to access the new courses when they’re released.
