Well, it happened. Last month, the official Call of Duty Twitter account posted a not-so-subtle teaser revealing that the iconic rapper Snoop Dogg would be coming to Call of Duty: Mobile, Vanguard and Warzone in some fashion, and yup, he’s here alright.
As many fans expected, he’s an operator, which of course means you can actually play as him this time - a step up from his first cameo in the series in the form of those DLC voice lines in COD: Ghosts. However, the whole thing frankly feels like a weird fever dream, especially the trailer announcing his appearance in Mobile, which is just an experience.
Check out Snoop Dogg’s COD: Mobile reveal here, to see him dodging bullets with his iconic ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ dance.
Yeah, I, uh, don’t even know how to move on from that. It’s mesmerising, but in the way where you just can’t tear yourself away from watching something awful unfold. It’d probably have been quite funny if it wasn’t for the fact that, you know, it’s not meant to be ironic, which just makes it all ten times worse.
“The D O Double G is back in Call of Duty and this time I’m in the freakin’ game! Excited to be working with the COD team to bring some fly features for you all to enjoy,” the rapper is quoted saying on the Call of Duty blog. “It’s dope, y’all can play as me and get these sick items that have Snoop written all over them.”
Snoop is available as an operator in Mobile right now, but getting him is no easy process. He can only be unlocked via the Lucky Draw, which is, as I’m sure you can guess, a cash-grab heavy RNG system - there’s no way to just buy him outright, so players could end up spending a lot of money just for the chance. This won’t be the case in Vanguard and Warzone - in those games, you’ll be able to purchase a bundle including some items, as well as the rapper himself, so if you want him, be sure to grab him when he becomes available from 19 April.
