Netflix has somewhat of a reputation for cancelling shows prematurely. There’s Altered Carbon, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Jupiter’s Legacy, Cursed, Cowboy Bepop, and First Kill - just to name a few casualties. You get the idea. No matter what your TV tastes, you’ve probably had a handful of your favourite Netflix shows cancelled. It’s not just Netflix though. HBO Max recently pulled the plug on a number of DC projects including Batgirl. Netflix certainly wants to stay on top though as it’s cancelled yet another show after a single season.

Netflix has decided to cancel the adult animated series Q-Force. The series was centred around a group of LGBTQ+ superspies known as Queer Force, with Agent Mary serving as their leader. Alongside the American Intelligence Agency, the Q-Force team were tasked with a case but a new member is invited to join them on the mission - a straight man.

The series starred the voice talents of Sean Hayes, Wanda Sykes, David Harbour and Stephanie Beatriz. Q-Force ended up being somewhat controversial. The show’s creatives intended to take back ownership over LGBTQ+ culture stereotypes, twisting the narrative on outdated notions by utilising them but this was lost on critics.

Rotten Tomatoes’ critics consensus reads, “Q-Force's heart is in the right place, but dated stereotypes and a general lack of humour make this animated action adventure fall flat.” On the other hand, Q-Force has a 78 percent audience rating but this wasn’t enough to save the show from Netflix’s axe.
