'Cyberpunk 2077' Cars Can Finally Fly, And It's Awesome

Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads

When Cyberpunk 2077 launched back in 2020, it was perhaps not quite the game many of us had been expecting it to be.

To put it mildly, Night City wasn't exactly the immersive sci-fi metropolis we'd been promised. A multitude of game-breaking bugs and lack of polish saw to that. There were also plenty of features fans had hoped to see in Cyberpunk 2077 that simply didn't make the cut.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a much better game now, of course, as you can see below!

But while CD Projekt RED has worked incredibly hard to improve Cyberpunk 2077 over the past year or so, there are still some things missing from the game that only modders have been able to deliver so far.

We've seen thrilling overhauled police chases, a working subway system, and even a third-person mod. But it wasn't until just recently that we finally got the mod we've all been waiting for: flying cars.

While the world of Cyberpunk 2077 already has cars that aren't limited to driving around on the roads, you as a player never actually get to take one for a spin. There are a handful of moments in the game where you get to climb inside one of these high-end vehicles, naturally, but at no point do you physically drive one.

It's a heartbreaking missed opportunity, but one that modder Jack Humbert has now rectified. The smashing new mod allows all cars and bikes to take to the skies of Night City, complete with a rad Back To The Future-style effect in which the wheels turn up inside the vehicle.

Take a look at the mod in action below!

Seeing Night City from a brand-new perspective is obviously a real trip. Players can even park up and explore the rooftops of the tallest skyscrapers if they really want to, although I should warn you there's obviously not much up there since CDPR never intended us to climb so high.
