Cyberpunk 2077 is a much better game now than it was in 2020, but there's still plenty of work to do to win back the trust of fans everywhere and deliver on its original promises.

Developer CD Projekt RED has acknowledged this, and made it clear that it knows it still has a ways to go in improving Cyberpunk 2077.

Take a look at how poorly Cyberpunk 2077 used to run below:

In a video shared on the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit earlier this week, CDPR quest director Paweł Sasko once again moved to assure fans the team hasn't forgotten about the previously promised expansions, but noted they aren't the studio's priority right now.

"I can assure you that we are working on an expansion, we're working [on] stuff for you guys besides that," Sasko explained. "That didn't change, we are still improving the game because we are all aware there is work to be done."

Cyberpunk 2077's biggest update yet released earlier this year, finally making the game available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S with greatly improved visuals, new content, and a wealth of bug fixes. It's a marked improvement that the vast majority of players have praised, and Sasko stressed how appreciative the entire CDPR team is of that positive feedback.

"We're very happy you guys liked [Patch 1.5], and that gives us more...incentive to work for you guys because you show your appreciation for it," Sasko said. "That's as much as I can tell you. We are working on stuff for you. Like I'm literally daily reviewing quests, talking to people about stuff, so it is happening."

Very little is known about Cyberpunk 2077's paid expansions right now. Ahead of the game's launch CDPR announced there would be two major DLC drops, and a smattering of smaller, free DLC similar to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
