'Cyberpunk 2077' Is Crashing On PC And PS4 Following 1.5 Update

Although the update has brought plenty of improvements to the table, it seems that some players aren't even able to play the game anymore.

Oh dear, we should have known that things were going a bit too well for Cyberpunk 2077 this week. On Tuesday, CD Projekt Red surprised us all with the announcement and release of their big ol’ new-gen upgrade patch and free DLC. All platforms got some improvements (in theory at least, we’re getting to that), but undoubtedly the main one was the inclusion of ray tracing features, 4K with dynamic scaling, faster loading times, and other visual and technical improvements for PS5 and Xbox Series X.

For the most part, the reception for all this has been pretty great, actually. Fans have been in awe at the difference in visuals, especially when it comes to the character models, which genuinely look like they could be from a whole different game when you compare them to their pre-patch versions. Unfortunately though, it seems that the efforts have been mainly focused on the game's performance on new-gen consoles, because some other players have actually been facing nothing but issues since the update.

Following the 1.5 update, Cyberpunk 2077 looks significantly more breathtaking on new-gen platforms, making this legendary moment more relevant than ever.

As reported by Polygon, some PS4 and PC users have been experiencing anything but improvements since the update dropped. To be precise, they haven't been able to experience anything at all. The devs are currently investigating reports that the disc version of the PS4 game just won’t load anymore, as well as crashes at launch on the PC version, which they’re putting down to a fault in the audio software. Currently, they’re recommending that PC users who are experiencing this bug should try disabling certain drivers, such as Sonic Studio, Nahimic and A-Volute, as a temporary fix.

Gasp, Cyberpunk 2077 being broken, that’s absolutely unheard of. In all seriousness though, with CD Projekt Red being fully aware and working on the problems, it’s probably not going to be too long until we see a fix.

Anyway, assuming you do manage to get past the title screen, players will undoubtedly be excited to know that amongst all the new content, there are now “extended romances with Panam, Kerry, River, and Judy.” What does that amount to, I hear you ask? Nudes. They send nudes now. Do with that information what you will.
