'Destiny 2' Players Are Trolling Each Other By Skipping A Hugely Important Story Cutscene

We’re now just under a week away from Destiny 2’s latest big expansion, The Witch Queen. Given that the last one, Beyond Light, released back in November 2020, it’s fair to say that fans have been waiting quite some time for it.

So, it’s probably not surprising then, that players have been hungrily devouring the final mission of the current season, which went live yesterday, so that they’re all ready to jump into the new season when it lands. Or at least, they’ve been trying to. The big cutscene that plays at the end of the mission is supposed to wrap up the season's story and lead in nicely to the next one, so y’know, pretty important to see.

Check out the reveal trailer for Destiny 2's upcoming expansion, The Witch Queen, below.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t been working out so great for some people, for a number of different reasons. For starters, as reported by PC Gamer, many players have been reporting issues with bugs and glitches, which have been outright preventing them from even completing the mission. On the other hand though, you’ve also got teammates just being general arseholes. What's new?

It turns out that if even one player votes to skip the cutscene at the end of the mission, it’ll skip it for everyone in the team, which is definitely very fair. As you’d imagine, this leaves it wide open for trolling, with it only taking one teammate to potentially waste your time if you’re just trying to watch the conclusion.

Of course, you can watch the cutscene on YouTube if you really don’t want to go through the hassle of unlocking it yourself, but you shouldn’t be forced into doing that just because of other people going out and choosing violence.

Bungie has announced on Twitter that the team are currently investigating the issues surrounding the mission, so fingers crossed they’ll also implement some kind of fix for the cutscene-skipping problem too, since even though it’s not exactly broken, it is a bit of a stupid decision. The Witch Queen expansion launches on 22 February, so hopefully it’ll all be sorted before then.
