'Dino Crisis' Returns In Gorgeous Unreal Engine 5 Remake

'Dino Crisis' Returns In Gorgeous Unreal Engine 5 Remake

It's rawsome (I can't be bothered to do better than this today)

You have to feel for Dino Crisis fans. Survival horror with dinosaurs sounds like such a home-run concept for a AAA video game that it's constantly baffling to me that Capcom chooses not to revive the franchise that was literally that.

Capcom has found so much success in recent years by reviving classic franchises in new and exciting ways. Resident Evil 2 was a massive critical and commercial success that outsold the original versionDevil May Cry V was also a huge hit, prompting Capcom to announce that it intended to dive further into its back catalogue of old IPs and assess which games might benefit from a similar shot in the arm.

And while we're delighted to see things like Dragon's Dogma 2 and Resident Evil 4, we have to wonder when Dino Crisis will get a turn in the spotlight. I mean good lord, it's been nearly 20 years since the last entry. All we want is a horror game with dinosaurs! Is that too much to ask?

Naturally, as is so often the way with these things, the fans are ready to do what the publisher won't. A stunning new video from YouTuber TeaserPlay dares to imagine what the original Dino Crisis might look like in Unreal Engine 5, and the answer is pretty damn impressive.

Take a look for yourself below, or via this link.

While this glorious teaser might not be playable, it does remind us of just what Capcom is denying us every second it doesn't greenlight an official Dino Crisis remake.

Fortunately, anyone looking to get a dose of dino-flavoured survival horror still can, thanks to the gorgeous looking horror game Instinction. Like the above video, it uses Unreal Engine 5. Unlike the above video, it's actually coming out. That makes it a clear winner in our books.
