In a shareholder meeting yesterday, Disney confirmed that ads are coming to the lowest subscription tier of Disney Plus - and if you want an ad-free experience, you'll have to shell out a little more every month.
In spite of the rising costs of living, Disney reported that another 14.4 million customers have been brought on board across the last quarter, exceeding analysts' expectations. “We had an excellent quarter, with our world-class creative and business teams powering outstanding performance at our domestic theme parks, big increases in live-sports viewership, and significant subscriber growth at our streaming services,” said Bob Chapek, chief executive officer, in a press release.

Even though there is a new tier arriving, there will be no difference in the titles available on either of these options. So, Disney Plus Basic will show ads in between shows, and will cost $7.99 a month. This is the same price as it is already, ergo, it's a question of whether or not the interruptions will annoy you. If that's the case, you'll need to upgrade to Disney Plus Premium, which will be $10.99 a month. And there's no need to choose now, as these changes will roll out on 8 December.
