Marvel Has Apparently Cast Jim Carrey As One Of Its Biggest Villains

Carrey could be appearing in the She-Hulk series and beyond.

It’s getting difficult to name a big Hollywood actor that hasn’t been cast in a Marvel film yet. It sometimes seems like it’s the biggest collaboration of talent the movie industry has ever seen, and now there is a rumour that one of the world’s best-known comedians, Jim Carrey, has also been invited to play a large role in the Marvel cinematic universe.

Jim Carrey is obviously known for his roles as The Grinch, Ace Ventura, Truman Burbank, Dr Robotnik and so many more. He’s a living legend and according to a post on the Marvel Studios Spoilers subreddit, he’s taking on the role of MODOK in the MCU. And though that casting may be a surprise, it feels like he may fit the role perfectly

Jim Carrey has recently starred as Dr. Robotnik in Sonic The Hedgehog...

Normally at GAMINGbible we’ll embed the Reddit post for you to see for yourself but this time, we’ll hide it in a link in case you don’t want further spoilers for Black Panther Wakanda Forever, She-Hulk, and more. We’ll instead give you a run-down of where Jim Carrey is reported to appear.

The post says: “Jim Carrey cast as MODOK for multiple Disney Plus shows, possibly as early as She-Hulk (We’ve also been told recently that MODOK appears in Ant-Man 3 [Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania], but that’s unverified. This user also stated that Jonathan Majors listens to his Kang theme song on set)”.

Interesting, very interesting. This of course isn’t a confirmation of the appearance of the actor, and MODOK could be recast following this leak if it’s true.

If you’re unfamiliar with the character of MODOK, he’s an unusually… alien-looking villain in the Marvel franchise. His name is an acronym that has varied over the years, meaning Mental, Mobile, or Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing. He’s sort of a massive face/head in a high tech suit, and we have no idea if Disney is going to keep to his classic aesthetic or choose something a little more ‘natural’. That being said, Thanos was a massive purple giant so they might make MODOK look as grotesque as the comic books make him without a problem.
