'Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2' Announcement Coming Soon, Insider Says

'Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2' Announcement Coming Soon, Insider Says

"Expect to hear about the game in a significant way."

Apparently, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 will be shown off before E3 2022 and we've even got an inclination of a possible release window for the anticipated continuation of Cal's story.

Jeff Grubb, a reporter for Giant Bomb, asserted that the sequel will be put before the public ahead of the (historically) annual summer showcase on the latest episode of his show GrubbSnax. If the name is ringing a few bells, he is the same industry insider who revealed the existence of the Mass Effect remasters, Star Wars Eclipse, the Dead Space reboot and Square Enix's Guardians of the Galaxy game. He's got a reliable record, in short. Unfortunately, this episode of GrubbSnax is hidden behind a paywall and seems to have been scrubbed from the Internet as clicking the link that Twitter user Nibellion offers gives you a 404 error. Still, Grubb apparently said that players should "Expect to hear about the game in a significant way before E3 [2022]."

Here's the trailer for Star Wars Eclipse, a new story-driven experience from the developer of Heavy Rain and Detroit Become Human!

Coincidentally, there is a Star Wars Celebration occurring on May 26th to 29th, 2022, in Anaheim, California. This would be the opportune moment to roll out the reveal for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2, no? Moreover, Grubb said that developer Respawn Entertainment is aiming for a release this year but he wouldn't bet his life savings on the likelihood of the sequel hitting that target. Given the pandemonium that the coronavirus crisis has wreaked on the global economy, this isn't massively surprising, and we've learned that delays aren't a reason to pout.

Last year, rumours were a-rumbling that Darth Maul would appear in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2. The leaker claimed that the second story would begin at the end of the original game, avoiding any irritating time skip, and feature the rest of the Imperial Inquisition which would include a Terrelian Inquisitor. The only character that fits the bill is the Eighth Brother who was responsible for tracking and capturing Maul, as we saw in Star Wars Rebels. There is a possibility therefore that these events might cross over in the story of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 and see Cal Kestis duking it out with Darth Maul. Of course, nothing is set in stone here, however it would be a brilliant battle to play out.
