Disney's Hercules is available on Steam so I know what I'm doing this weekend

Disney's Hercules, the 1997 classic, is available on Steam - and it's perfect as a slice of cheap weekend entertainment.

Anyone fancy having a delightfully nostalgic weekend? Disney’s Hercules is on Steam for a bargain price - and that sounds like the perfect way to while away a few relaxing hours.

Hercules was released all the way back in 1997 on PlayStation, Windows PC, and Game Boy. As with many Disney games of that era, the title is a platforming adaptation of the film of the same name - and it was hugely fun. A PC version of Hercules was then re-released in 2019, landing on Steam. If that fact totally passed you by, well I’m here to let you know now. They do say better late than never. Hercules just so happens to be on sale for the small ol’ price of £4.99. That’s not a lot to pay for a comforting slice of nostalgia.

Disney's latest release, Disney Illusion Island, was recently launched on Switch.

Over on Steam, the game has a very positive review rating of 87%. One user wrote, “Omg, this game just blasted me through time. When I was in middle school, we used to play this game before computer classes started. I can't believe I got hit so hard with nostalgia. Definitely worth buying at this price,” while another added, “This game was imprinted in my mind from my early childhood! This game is so nostalgic.” One review read, “If you played this game as a kid, it is exactly as you remember it.”

It’s not a very long game. In fact, you should be able to blast through it in two to three hours, but that could be a good thing when huge games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Starfield are currently looming over us.

If you’re on the lookout for a new Disney release, Disney Illusion Island was just released on the Nintendo Switch. In our review, we wrote, “If you’re looking for a wholesome dose of Disney or an entryway into this genre, Illusion Island is a joyously fun gem with cross-generational appeal that I’ll be recommending non-stop to anyone who will listen. It’s undoubtedly one of the finest-looking games I’ve ever played on the Nintendo Switch.”
