Horror games aren’t for everyone. In fact, as a professed scaredy-cat, it was only recently that I decided to finally try out the genre for myself and if you can get past the overwhelming fear, there’s a lot of fun to be had - plus there are some absolute treats on the horizon. The Callisto Protocol is arguably the year’s most hotly-anticipated horror but this week, Immortality has stolen the spotlight.

Created by developer Half Mermaid, Immortality challenges players with solving the disappearance of Hollywood starlet Marissa Marcel - taking a deep dive into her ill-fated filmography. The interactive cinematic horror has been met with rave reviews, earning it an impressive score of 90 on review aggregator Metacritic.

Our very own Imogen rated the game a nine, writing that “Immortality is tailor-made for those who like to call movies ‘films’ because it makes them feel superior. [...] It's for the know-it-alls that realise diving into these three lost films from Marissa Marcel, they might not know that much about cinema after all.”
If this sounds like your cup of tea, the good news is that Immortality will soon be launching on mobile. A release date is yet to be confirmed but Half Mermaid announced that it’s coming “very soon” and will be available via Netflix Games on Apple and Android devices. That’s what we like to hear.
