Doctor Who teaser shows first look at Drag Race star as Doctor's 'greatest enemy'

Doctor Who teaser shows first look at Drag Race star as Doctor's 'greatest enemy'

Doctor Who releases first look at Drag Race star Jinkx Monsoon in action as the Doctor's 'greatest enemy'.

It’s an exciting time for Doctor Who fans. Jodie Whittaker’s stint as the Doctor ended last year, leaving us in somewhat of an interim period.

Whittaker portrayed the 13th Doctor, with Sex Education actor Ncuti Gatwa next in line to take over the mantle. The thing is, Gatwa will actually be the 15th Doctor as David Tennant will star in three specials later this year as the 14th Doctor to celebrate the franchise’s 60th anniversary. In case you missed it, the upcoming episodes are getting the ‘Hollywood treatment’. Disney Plus has purchased the international airing rights for the show, throwing a ton of money into its production budget in the process. Now, we’ve also got a better look at exactly who Drag Race star Jinkx Monsoon will be playing.

This Doctor Who Xbox is seriously impressive. Take a look below.

It was previously revealed that RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars winner Jinkx Monsoon would be joining the series, but now we’ve finally got our first look at Jinkx in action as a brand new villain. The villain’s name remains unknown, but they are described as “The Doctor’s most powerful enemy”. I’m sure fans will have theories soon enough. The character’s costume features piano keys in the design. A hint, possibly?

Needless to say, fans are very excited. Twitter user agirlimpossible wrote, “The outfit. I’m OBSESSED,” while sambunnage added, “I like the evil vibes going on here, excited to see who her character is! Also great costume.” Pheebs_18 already has a theory, writing, “I may be clowning but I am even more convinced … The Rani?” She’s not the only one to suggest it.

Jacktheneek added, “This has to be The Rani because the whole vibe I get from that costume and her is camp - and The Rani is camp. I’m very excited for this.” If you didn’t know, The Rani is a renegade Time Lord but hasn’t been seen in the TV series since the 1980s. Could she be making her big comeback? We’ve got a bit longer to wait to find out.
