'Call Of Duty: Warzone' Won't Be Around Much Longer, Warns Top Streamer

Controversial streamer Herschel 'Dr Disrespect' Beahm IV has once again hit out at Call Of Duty: Warzone, claiming that the game is currently in such a sorry state that even Microsoft's historic $69 billion Activision Blizzard buyout won't be enough to save the troubled battle royale.

Last week, Microsoft surprised us all (and ruined my lunch break) when it confirmed it intended to buy Activision Blizzard and all its associated IP in a landmark deal. What this actually means for the future of Call Of Duty remains unclear, but there's already been talk that the games will remain on PlayStation, and that the series could even ditch its divisive annual release schedule.

Many fans see Call Of Duty coming under the control of Microsoft as a positive step forward, but Beahm has argued that the writing is on the wall for Warzone. There are already so many issues plaguing the battle royale, he says, that Microsoft won't have anything left to save by the time it owns the IP.

Beahm has been one of Warzone's most vocal critics for months now, but his latest attack on the game came as he was downed by an enemy player during a recent tournament.

“Microsoft’s not going to save you!” the YouTuber exclaimed. “There’s just nothing… nothing! There’s so many problems. No audio [for one]. This game sucks. Your game sucks! Microsoft won’t save you. It won’t! Even the game’s engine is outdated! It’s a wrap, really. The game is a wrap! Holy sh*t, it’s done.”

While it's hard to really take on board the criticisms of a man who was yelling at a game he'd just lost as, Beahm has been making some solid points against Warzone for a while now. Just a few weeks ago, the YouTuber took aim at the game's updates and how he feels they're increasingly making the battle royale feel less and less like Call Of Duty.

“It’s supposed to be this over-the-top blockbuster arcade game you can pop into, start playing and have fun with," he said. "It’s high rep. I’m not getting that feeling. I’m falling asleep playing this game.”

Other streamers and fans have also started to express their growing discomfort with Warzone in recent months, but I don't know if that's enough to suggest that the game is going to die anytime soon. With over 36k viewers on Twitch right now, and millions of players around the world, I don't think it's going anywhere. It is clear, however, that more substantial change is needed - and soon.
