Dragon Age: Dreadwolf 2024 release date teased by EA

It’s been quiet ol’ time for BioWare as of late but that’s totally understandable. After all, the studio is juggling development on both Mass Effect 5 and Dragon Age: Deadwolf.

It’s the latter title that appears to be next in line for release after it was confirmed that neither project would be affected by the announced EA layoffs.

Mass Effect fans are going to have to hold in there for a tad longer, by which I mean several years.

BioWare may be dropping fresh Mass Effect 5 teases everytime N7 Day rolls around in November, but it’s not believed to be launched until 2026 or 2027.

It’s much more positive news for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf though. The game’s first trailer couldn’t have dropped at a worse time, just hours before GTA VI’s grand reveal.

That being said, it got us hyped with looks at multiple long-awaited locations like Rivain and Antiva - and did you pick out Hawke’s voice? Very intriguing.

If you too have been theorising for months, we could get answers soon as Dreadwolf’s release window has just been massively narrowed down.

EA, parent company of BioWare, has just released its Q4 earnings for the 2024 financial year which included a look at the company’s FY25 release slate, which runs from April 2024 to April 2025.

As reported by WCCFtech, one slide read, “We have two unannounced titles in FY25: one partner title expected in Q4, and one owned IP title, which is not included in the above table. We expect to provide more details on timing at a later date.”

It’s believed that this “owned IP” is none other than Dreadwolf, which would narrow down the game as releasing prior to April 2025.

A late 2024 release was previously thrown around by insiders which could have some truth behind it.

We’re rapidly approaching summer showcase season which could be why EA is holding back. As a reminder, the Geoff Keighley-fronted Summer Game Fest will be held on 7 June, with the Xbox Games Showcase on 9 June and Ubisoft Forward on the 10. Nintendo will also hold a show but the date remains unconfirmed.
