You know what’s great about single-player games? Other than them often having some of the greatest stories and immersive worlds out there, of course. I’m referring to the sweet, underrated ability to play offline.
We’ve all experienced internet issues at some point or another, which inevitably put a swift stop to whatever gaming plans we had with friends. In those dark, dark times, you can always fall back on single-player games to get your quota of button mashing in without being hit with a load of lag or connection errors. That is unless you were planning on playing an EA game a few hours ago, apparently.

There were multiple reports on Twitter overnight of gamers being totally unable to load any single-player EA games due to the company’s servers being down. GGRecon guides editor Joshua Boyles tweeted: “Absolutely love that I can't play a single-player game because the EA servers are down.” Attached is a screenshot of the error message, which states that the “login did not go as planned”, and “we couldn’t log you in because the network failed to do its network thing”.
Others chimed in with the same problem: “Getting this too,” @Seann1911 replied. “In the same boat, had just paid for Play Pro and I'm probably hopping on a refund soon,” added @OPaiTio.

The good news is that there have been no further reports on Twitter for several hours now, so it appears that the issue has been resolved. EA doesn’t seem to have responded to the matter, but there’s no doubt that plenty of people will have been affected by it given that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor released just last week, and if my social media feed is anything to go by, everyone is playing it. I’d say that ‘hopefully things remain stable from here on out’, but let’s face it, this probably won’t be the last time we hear of this problem.
