More modular wonders

One could wonder how you make one of the best ever SoulsBorne games even better. The answer is to leave it to modders to explore new avenues.

A recent mod, currently listed on Nexus Mods, is an attempt to completely overhaul a few of aspects of Elden Ring. Downloading Elden Ring: Dark Moon gives the original game a whole new lease of life. Players are reporting their love for the mod and it has received over 20K downloads.

Elden Ring is still pulling in players over 18 months later

Among the changes and additions players will find new armour, weapons, items, and even spells for all you mages out there. With improved character creation and more options for clothing, your character can better show off your personality and there are several new merchants to deal with and purchase from. The modding team really wants players to live their best life with a “major emphasis on fashion souls.”

In terms of combat, there is a huge overhaul to change the combat in line with the new weapons plus opportunities to resurrect bosses allowing you to fight them all over again. Of course, it wouldn’t be an Elden Ring mod without introducing new areas. Players can look forward to seeing The Arena and The Isle of Bounty, both hiding new items and secrets.

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring has seen a great deal of mods since the release of the game and players keep coming back. Even without the modding opportunities, it’s still a brilliant stand-out game since winning many Game of the Year accolades in 2022 due to its vast open-world and deep narrative.

If you’re a PC player and are yearning for the official DLC to come out next year, you can easily get by with a few mods to refresh your next playthrough. So, what class are you rolling next?
