Fall Guys finally went free-to-play this week, launching its first ever season pass - and I WILL eventually succeed in getting the GAMINGbible team to join me in a custom lobby. It’s simply a matter of time.
Back when it was released in 2020, Mediatonic’s Fall Guys became the most downloaded PlayStation Plus game of all time and you may recall its rocky launch day. Hundreds of thousands of players tried to access the game and the servers quite simply couldn’t handle it. Well, history has repeated itself.
Fall Guys will soon launch an in-game Halo event. Check out this hilarious trailer which replicates a Halo classic.
As mentioned, Fall Guys went free-to-play earlier this week and once again the servers struggled with the huge onslaught of players, and now we know why. The official Fall Guys twitter account has announced that the game reached 20 million players during its first 48 hours of free-to-play, which is a huge milestone.
To compare, Fall Guys had around 1.5 million players during its initial 24 hours of release back in 2020 so you can see just how big of a jump this is. It’s worth noting that Fall Guys didn’t just go free-to-play. Previously, the game was only available on PlayStation and Steam whereas you can now also enjoy it on Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and via the Epic Games Store.
Announcing the milestone, Fall Guys wrote, “Massive thank you to all who have stumbled. We reached an incredible 20 million players in the first 48 hours of Free For All! See you this weekend my beans!”

If you’ve never checked Fall Guys out, there really is no better time. Likewise, if you haven’t frequented the game much since launch, there’s now a staggering number of levels to master - plus an upcoming in-game Halo event. Time to go add another crown to my rank.
