Fallout fans stunned by gameplay trailer for new open world RPG

Fallout fans will absolutely want to check out this new game

Fallout fans looking for their next fix of grim post apocalyptic action will want to make sure they're keeping an eye on a very promising new game that looks to combine the best elements of Fallout, Metro, and Stalker.

We've written previously about Pioner, the new MMORPG from GFA games. There's more than a little Fallout in its DNA, but also traces of Metro, Stalker, and Dying Light.

The devs recently shared an impressive first look at some brand-new gameplay, which you can check out below. It also looks like we're getting a much deeper dive on 20 December, so be sure to check back for that.

"Team up with other adventurers and act as a group," GFA writes of Pioner. "Together with your comrades you can go on a long journey to the vast expanses of the Shadowlands or raid closed dungeons. You will explore anomalies, confront hunters from other factions and run special missions. There's enough work for everyone."

According to GFA the game is currently scheduled for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S. There's no set release date at this time, but it looks like the team is gunning for 2024.

The general reaction to Pioner has, so far, been incredibly strong, especially from fans of classic post apocalyptic shooters. It's worth keeping expectations in check, of course, especially given the recent poo storm that whipped up around The Day Before, a game that sold itself as an ambitious post apocalyptic MMO and ended up being an extremely bad extraction shooter.

To be very clear, I'm not suggesting that Pioner will in any way be like The Day Before! I'm just suggesting it's always good to keep expectations in check. I'm pretty sure GFA has already showed off more gameplay of Pioner than we ever got for The Day Before ahead of its launch, so that's a good sign.
