Fallout: New Vegas has been lovingly remade using the Fallout 4 Creation Engine, further proving how much we need a full-on remake.
It’s been 13 years since Obsidian Entertainment dropped the best Fallout game, Fallout New Vegas, and never touched the series again. Years later, and it’s still the most popular game in the series, with many players calling for Obsidian’s return to remake the game for modern consoles. While they wait though, one team of fans has taken matters into their own hands, and has been gradually recreating the game as a mod for Fallout 4.
Featuring the key quests and locations found in New Vegas’ Mojave Wasteland, the mod includes updated visuals for all content found in the original game, along with all the gameplay enhancements made possible by Fallout 4’s updated controls and features.

The team behind the mod recently showcased a new gameplay video, featuring some of the old weapons imported into Fallout 4, almost exactly how they appeared in their game of origin.
Obviously more work needs to be done, but the mod is well on its way to being the New Vegas remake fans have been waiting for. Interestingly, fans aren’t the only ones hoping to see the game return on current-gen consoles. Some of the Obsidian team members that worked on the game have also expressed interest in returning for a remake. With Bethesda’s acquisition by Microsoft, and with enough demand from fans, it’s definitely a possibility an official remake could enter development at some point in the future, or even Fallout: New Vegas 2.
There’s been a number of fan-projects for Fallout recently, though many have been completely new adventures as opposed to remakes of previous ones. Not only has New Vegas received additional content through the latest mods, entirely new Fallout games are in development by dedicated fans of the series, such as Fallout: Cascadia and Fallout: Odyssey.
