Fallout: New Vegas fans pay tribute to Matthew Perry following death

Fans of Fallout: New Vegas have paid tribute to Benny actor Matthew Perry following news of his death.

Fallout: New Vegas fans have paid tribute to actor Matthew Perry, following the tragic news of his death over the weekend.

It was confirmed that Perry, perhaps best known for portraying Chandler Bing on iconic sitcom Friends, was found dead at the age of 54. The late actor was found by authorities unresponsive in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home.

Perry starred in Friends for the entirety of its run, from 1994 to 2004, bringing smiles to the faces of many as the wise-cracking joker Chandler. Ever popular to this day, Friends will forever remain a part of Perry’s lasting legacy, but so too will his efforts to help others. In recent years, Perry opened up about his struggles with addiction. He opened and ran Perry House until 2015, a sober living facility to help others struggling with addiction. The actor also advocated in courts for non-violent substance abusers to receive help instead of jail time.

Outside of Friends, Perry brought to life a whole host of other characters. In 2010, he starred in Fallout: New Vegas as Benny. As reported by ComicBook, following news of Perry’s death, New Vegas fans have gathered on social media to discuss their fond memories of the character and actor. One Twitter user wrote, “RIP. I’ll always remember Matthew Perry for his legendary voice acting as Benny in Fallout: New Vegas.”

“F**k. Heard about the Matthew Perry news. Mostly knew him from New Vegas (and Friends of course). RIP to Benny, the best well-dressed villain of Fallout,” one fan said, while another added, “Rest in peace Matthew Perry. He aced his role as Benny in Fallout: New Vegas. I know it’s not his most famous role, but it should be mentioned that he fit the character perfectly. There is literally no better voice.”

“I still think about how Matthew Perry was such a big fan of Fallout 3 that he talked about it on TV so they gave him one of the best roles in New Vegas,” recalled one user.

GAMINGbible once again extends its condolences to Matthew Perry’s family, friends, and colleagues.
