Fallout: New Vegas gets gorgeous Unreal Engine remake

Despite first releasing over ten years ago, Fallout: New Vegas is still considered to be the best in the Fallout series. With such a dedicated fanbase, many have called for a remake and although Bethesda are yet to announce it, fans can’t help but imagine what it could look like on new engines such as Unreal Engine 5.

Fallout: New Vegas was released in 2010 and tells the story of Courier Six who must traverse the post-apocalyptic Mojave desert in search of the men who killed him. As well as exploring the vast desert as well as the small towns built by survivors, Fallout: New Vegas manages to capture a world after the Great War.

Now thirteen years on, Fallout: New Vegas has been succeeded by other Bethesda titles in the series such as Fallout 5 and Fallout 76. However, the 2010 RPG is still considered to be the best by many and fans are still calling for a remake or remaster. Although one is yet to be confirmed by Bethesda, one Youtuber has created a trailer for Fallout: New Vegas recreated using Unreal Engine 5.

The trailer, created by TeaserPlay, showcases the world of New Vegas in a modern-day engine and it is as beautiful as you would imagine. Set to the tune of It’s All Over but the Crying by The Ink Spots, the trailer begins with our first look at the remastered Mojave desert with ghouls and wildlife prowling the area. We then get our first look at Courier Six as they explore everything from winding sand-covered roads to cityscapes on the horizon. With updated graphics and stunning visuals, it has made fans even more hopeful for an official remaster.

“Just imagine if they listened to the fans and gave us remakes of Fallout 3 and New Vegas. That would be awesome,” read one comment. Another reads, “Weird how a random YouTube channel knows what gamers want more than the corporations that greedily want every penny from us.”

It remains to be seen if we will ever get an official remake for Fallout: New Vegas but until then, we can sit back and imagine how good it would be thanks to some fan made trailers.
