Starfield is right around the corner, but some gamers are already looking ahead to future Bethesda games.
We already know that The Elder Scrolls VI is Bethesda's next project after Starfield, and that Fallout 5 won't arrive until after the follow-up to Skyrim. The upshot? Fallout fans are going to be waiting a long, long time for the next main entry.

The good news is that there are plenty of ways for Fallout fans to get their fix without relying on Bethesda. There are plenty of total conversion mods that completely overhaul Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, offering new quests, experiences, and content.

One of the best I've seen is Fallout: The Wilderness, an impressive mod that gives players a huge new area to explore
Features include an open world as big as Fallout 4's Nuka Wordl, filled with abandoned buildings, forests, lakes, and plenty of hidden secrets to uncover. There are a dozen new settlements to explore, each filled with new characters and stories, plus a "horror-themed" main quest.
As if that wasn't quite enough, you can also get your hands on new music, weapons, armour, and more. If you're looking to scratch that Fallout itch, this is the real deal.
The mod's creator, El Ha, notes The Wilderness was designed especially for survival players in mind, so don't go in expecting an action-packed gun-slinging thrillfest. The focus here is on survival horror, managing your resources, and playing it smart. Classic Fallout, in other words.

Exactly what big ideas Bethesda has for the next Fallout game remain to be seen. Personally, I hope the studio is looking at the excellent total conversion mod Fallout London for some inspiration on how to create a Fallout game that's as familiar as it is genuinely surprising.
For now, fans of Bethesda's RPGs can look forward to Starfield. Given the upcoming game is bragging about having 1,000 open planets to explore, it's likely to keep us plenty busy while we wait for Fallout 5 anyway.
