‘FIFA 23’ Fans Spot T-Posing Player In Official Gameplay Footage For New Game

The release of FIFA 23 inches ever closer, our last ever FIFA game. As I’m sure you’re aware, Electronic Arts will soon drop the FIFA brand for good, instead becoming EA SPORTS FC. It’s not the only change that’s coming to the franchise.

FIFA 23 will star female player Sam Kerr on the cover, making her the franchise’s first universal female cover star, alongside returning favourite Kylian Mbappé. EA have also announced that FIFA 23 will not feature the Russian national nor club teams following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Just yesterday, we finally got our first look at the title’s gameplay but already, fans have spotted a major blunder.

Check out FIFA 23's reveal trailer below.

EA have unveiled a gameplay deep dive but just hours after the video was uploaded, one fan spotted an embarrassing error. Reddit user Raks- took to the r/FIFA subreddit to announce that within the gameplay trailer, he’d spotted a player doing a T-pose. You really have to see it to believe it. Take a look below.

In the clip, virtual Jude Bellingham shows off some of his fancy footwork yet in the background, one of his teammates just stands there T-posing. Just to fill you in, the T-pose is the default pose used for 3D models during a game’s development. The T-pose is then manipulated and animated to create a more lifelike avatar, which suggests that EA accidentally left an un-animated player in their gameplay trailer. Whoops.

It’s not the first time they’ve let this happen. NBA player Andrew Bynum was also left to T-pose in a reveal trailer for NBA Elite 11. Fans dubbed the debacle the Jesus Bynum Glitch. NBA Elite 11 was eventually cancelled. I definitely can’t see that happening to FIFA 23, but it is kind of funny that history seems to have repeated itself.
