Finish 'Halo 2' Without Dying And Win $20,000 Bounty

I know what you’re thinking. How hard could a deathless run of Halo 2 possibly be? I mean, sure, it’d take some practice, and probably a fair bit of luck, but it’s definitely not impossible, and certainly worth the effort to nab yourself $20,000.

And you’d be right, if this was a regular deathless run, but as you might have guessed, there’s a catch. As reported by PCGamesN, if you want to get your hands on this sweet cash prize, you’ll have to complete the game under the hardest conditions possible - Legendary difficulty with all skull modifiers on, AKA a LASO run.

Before we get into it, check out some funny wins and fails from Halo below.

This challenge has been set by none other than streamer Charles “MoistCr1TiKaL” White (also known as penguinz0 on YouTube), which he describes as “perhaps the hardest challenge that currently exists in all of gaming”. In the 18 years since Halo 2’s release, no one has managed to complete it (as far as we know, anyway).

In case you were unaware, all but one of the skull modifiers in Halo 2 serve to make the game way harder - Thunderstorm, for example, causes most enemies to be their highest rank (e.g. Grunts become Ultras), and Anger makes enemies fire their weapons faster, and more often . The one exception is Envy, which gives Master Chief camouflage, so this one isn’t permitted to be used in the challenge. So, it’s all skulls except Envy.

MoistCr1TiKaL first launched the challenge a few weeks ago with a bounty of $5000, but has since raised the stakes to try to “make some history”. He believes it’s possible, and has even compiled some tips for prospective players in a recent video - take a look below.

To be eligible for the prize, the winning run has to be streamed, and a VOD uploaded to prove its legitimacy. If you think you can do it, be sure to keep this form handy to submit your proof. Good luck!
