American Football Coach Sounds Exactly Like 'RDR2' Dutch Giving A Speech And We Can't Un-Hear It

American Football Coach Sounds Exactly Like 'RDR2' Dutch Giving A Speech And We Can't Un-Hear It

Just have some goddamned trust.

Red Dead Redemption fans are in a spin after listening to this clip of the coach of the Detroit Lions motivating his team, because he sounds uncannily like Dutch from the van der Linde gang.

Dan Campbell started coaching the Detroit Lions in January 2021 and took a decidedly different approach to supporting the players. The Lions aren't the luckiest of teams - the last year they won a playoff game was 1992, the last season they won a division championship was 1993, and the last time they won a league title was 1957. These years are plastered on the back wall of the team meeting room to act as a reminder that these men could not only do something great, they could do something historic too.

For the purposes of the comparison of Dan Campbell and Dutch van der Linde, the team's track record works strangely well.

"All I think about is you guys," says Dutch towards the denouement of the game. "That's all I think about, man. That's all I f*cking think about, is you guys. And how I set you up for the best f*cking possible, the best possible advantage I can give you to have a season. I swear to you, man. I just need you to trust me, that's all. Please. Let's be better tomorrow."

Obviously that's not true - the above is the transcript from this clip of Campbell. But it doesn't sound too far off the pleas of Dutch as the "goddamned plan" starts to slip from his fingertips.
