Free 'Skyrim' Update Adds Twenty New Creatures To The Game

Free 'Skyrim' Update Adds Twenty New Creatures To The Game

Water good update

I am unironically really looking forward to playing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim again this week when the Anniversary Edition update drops.

For those of you who haven’t been paying attention, Bethesda is releasing a tenth anniversary update of Skyrim. It’ll come with improved graphics, enhanced performance, all of the DLC and mod support from the Special Edition, plus a bunch of free Creation Club mods from Bethesda. That means brand-new quests, weapons, and so much more. Oh, there’s also finally a fishing minigame - and it looks way more substantial than we expected.

Take a look at the latest trailer for a brand-new Skyrim board game below!

The fishing update will be added, for free, into all existing versions of Skyrim, so you don’t need to buy the Anniversary Edition specifically if all you want to do is catch some fish. And it sounds like there are plenty of fish to catch.

In a new Bethesda article breaking down the new feature, the developer explained that “20 new aquatic species” are being added to Skyrim. That’s in addition to the fish that already exist in the waterways of the fantasy world.

Through the new update, you’ll be able to use a rod to catch the fish. As you’d expect, they can be used in various recipes to craft unique dishes that provide boosts to health and other handy bonuses. But if your Dragonborn is a vegan, you can simply build your own collection of pets by crafting fish tanks and turning one of your many homes into an aquarium.

All of this will be available to try out as a free update from November 11, the same day that Skyrim: Anniversary Edition arrives on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
