'Forza Horizon 5' Player Recreates Parents' Honeymoon Photos In-Game Following Mum's Death

An incredible tribute

A gamer who recently lost their mum has decided to pay tribute to both parents through the creative use of Forza Horizon 5.

As I'm sure you know if you've seen or played the latest Forza, Playground Games' latest Xbox-exclusive racer is utterly stunning. The open-world Mexico is vast, fascinating, and truly beautiful. There's also plenty of scope for customization, with hundreds of classic cars that can be reworked to suit every player's unique tastes.

Over on Reddit, a Forza Horizon 5 player by the name of the_architects_427 decided to use the game's impressive level of detail to recreate their parents' honeymoon pictures as a way of paying tribute to their mum, who sadly passed in August.

They started by rebuilding their father's gorgeous canary yellow 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop. They then drove it to various locations on the game's map that matched up with spots from the couple's original photos. The results, as you can see below, are incredibly impressive - and wonderfully moving.

"My dad died in 2018 and now my mom passed this summer due to lung failure (not COVID-related)," the_architects_427 explained. "I've been missing them a lot lately since they met on Thanksgiving day and got married on December 16 1955. My mom always said she fell in love with my dad's 1955 Bel Air hardtop, he was just a bonus.

"I just want to say thanks to Playground Games and Turn 10 for putting this car in game and having such a good photo mode. It's been a nice way to remember them both."

This really is a beautiful application of Forza Horizon 5's photo mode, and we've no doubt the teams that worked so hard on this game will be delighted and deeply moved to see it put to such use.
