The game that managed to spawn a genre all of its own - the place where all the controller breaking frustration started - is of course Demon's Souls.  So it is perhaps not the first game which would come to mind when you are thinking of getting someone, who is not even familiar with a PlayStation controller, into gaming. However, it's what one fan absolutely intended to do.

His willing victim is his grandad, who happily sits rocking in his grandson's gaming chair in front of his driving focused set up. With the Dualsense controller in hand, and his helpful grandkid calling out commands at his back, little seems to stop the demon dueling duo.

Taking on just the first part of the remastered version of Demon's Souls for the PS5, our grandpa is unfamiliar with the controller layout. However, he is eager to take instructions and to learn how the game is played. Looking down at the buttons to see what he needs to do for healing, he appears to be enjoying himself immersed in the gothic world.

Of course, Soulsborne games are easier when you know exactly what is coming, and grandson dutifully alerts his elder to what is coming next. Still, he seems to be getting the hang of things as he increases the speed with which he locks on and begins his attacks.
